Packing Food Baskets? Tell Me More!

Looking for a meaningful volunteering opportunity? Packing food baskets is a great way to make a meaningful impact with just a few hours of work.

“Volunteering is at the core of our value system,” says Miri, the volunteer coordinator at Yad Ezra V’Shulamit, a non-profit that packs and delivers over 3,000 food baskets a week, “it impacts both the giver and the receiver in many ways.”

Ruti Eastman, a volunteer in the organizaton, explained her choice to volunteer in packing: “Yad Ezra v’Shulamit fulfills many of the things that matter most to us; feeding the poor, helping to educate children and assisting people to find employment. Donating money is a good thing — but nothing makes me feel more like I’m part of the solution than helping with my hands. Volunteering is something I can do for myself, putting “boots on the ground,” rather than standing on the sidelines and letting others do the hard work. I become part of my people, rather than a bystander. I recommend this feeling to everyone!”

Every day, Yad Ezra V’Shulamit is working hard to fight the pains of hunger in Israel.  Their volunteers are the lifeline to the success of their food basket distribution project.  Interested in joining their efforts?  Contact us today!
