Springtime is coming up and we already starting to feel it! Trees are blooming, the sun is out, and we’re getting ready for spring cleaning. Here are some of our favorite ways to do good in the springtime:
1. Spring cleaning
Spring cleaning is an excellent way of doing good for yourself, the environment, and others around you! Studies show that spring cleaning makes you happier, healthier, and more focused. Finding motivation to begin can be challenging, but trust us; once you start you won’t be able to stop. So grab your gloves and get started!
2. Donate unwanted clothes to charity
While you’re spring cleaning, refresh your closet and instead of throwing your old clothes away, do something environmentally friendly or sociable! Donate some old or unwanted clothes to charitable organizations, challenge yourself to make a new piece of clothing, resell or swap them!
3. It’s all about the flowers
The first thing we think of when we hear the word “spring”, is flowers. And who doesn’t love them? Surprise a friend or a family member with a beautiful bouquet. Bonus points for picking and assembling the flowers yourself!
4. Help spruce up someone’s garden
Spring is also the time to start preparing your garden and planting new flowers, fruits and vegetables. Start by cleaning, weeding, and mulching, and move on to the really fun part- planting! Bulbs like daffodils and lilies, vegetables like peas, cabbage, lettuces, and many more are popular spring crops.
5. Use an environmentally friendly way to get around
The weather is perfect to take a trip to a nature reserve or a park, go for a picnic, or organize other events (and even dates!) outside. Instead of taking your car, make it a bike trip! It’s good for your health, soul, and the environment! If you don’t have a bike, check if your city has bikes for rent, like Tel Aviv’s Tel-O-Fun!
